Law Clerk

Beery, Elsner & Hammond, LLP (BEH) is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated law firm which has exclusively represented public bodies in Oregon since its inception in 1998. BEH is designed as a full-service law firm for local governments; we serve as an outside general counsel’s office for many of our local government clients, while also serving as special counsel in certain specialty areas or on particular projects for others. We are a group of ten attorneys who individually possess expertise in various areas of municipal law, which when combined allow us to assist local governments with the myriad issues they face on a daily basis.

The firm is proud to have a growing list of clients from all over the state. We serve as general counsel to 25 cities and 19 other local governments and as special counsel for approximately 40 additional clients.

The breadth of our practice provides a unique opportunity for a law student to gain exposure to a wide variety of areas of law, including land use, contracting, public records, public meetings, public administration, tort liability, elections, real property, labor and employment, and constitutional law. Our practice includes both litigation and transactional work.

We are seeking a law clerk with an interest in municipal law to join our team. The details are flexible, but we envision the position being up to full-time during the summer and potentially continuing into the following school year on a part-time basis if agreed by the student and firm.
