Macaen (Mac) joined BEH in 2024. He began his practice representing construction contractors in contract disputes, but for more than the last ten years has been representing state and local governments in Arizona and Oregon.

While Mac specializes in complex public contracting, he has also amassed a broad range of other municipal law experience, including municipal governance, federal and state compliance, constitutional issues, workforce and equity agreements, development agreements, and real property and right of way issues. Mac has testified before the Oregon legislature on public policy issues, and has a background in litigation.

Mac is committed to guiding local governments through project-specific challenges, and to supporting the successful completion of public projects.

In his spare time, Mac enjoys spending time out in nature with his spouse and their two dogs.  Mac loves traveling and trying new food, including experimenting with gluten-free baking.
